The educational objectives of the department are to acquire basic and applied biomedical science and bio-food related professional knowledge and research ability and promote ability to use it. The studies of the department focus on areas of health promotion that has close relation with improvement of quality of life by connecting basic and applied biomedical science and bio-food area.
The department is composed of various professors in basic and applied biomedical science and bio-food fields. It participates in the BK 21 plus program to cultivate talented people. Also, it has a research center for new biomaterial. It has a goal to promote and cultivate potential and professional researchers who can lead global research environment by promoting core research ability in response to the social changes such as aging society.
